Have you ever felt stuck in a limbo? Like, you don't hate where you are, but you can't also see what else is ahead? Or have you ever felt like you're stuck in a personal development plateau? Or maybe, you just really are not happy with you are becoming at this point in your life. If any of that applies, welcome aboard girl, maybe it's time we reinvent ourselves!

Life is all about seasons. Seasons where you sow, seasons where your reap. Spring and winter seasons. It’s true in nature and it is true about us. That’s law. And right now, after a season that answered the questions that I had asked a long time ago and I reaped what I planted, I think God has me back on the creative. For the past week, my prayers have been asking God to fill my heart with new excitement and opportunities for growth because I didn’t know that I stayed in a plateau. I’m back to being the girl who didn’t have any idea yet of what she wants the ending to be and it’s all changing again. But what’s sweet is that I’ve been graced to face it with excitement.

How beautiful is it that every day, every waking morning, we are given a new chance to go towards the direction of the life that we want. Or if we're not sure, we have the grace to figure it out along the way. It's beautiful how we aren't held to still be the person we were yesterday, or frick, 5 minutes ago. I think it's beautiful that in every moment, we can breathe in and decide we're starting over again, and breathe out the past, leaving it behind as we press on forward in pursuit of our greatest potential.

I have always loved this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald from one of my all-time favorite movies, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button —

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.

Here is how I am reinventing myself:

Do a life review.

When you want to go somewhere, Google Maps asks you two things— where you want to go AND your current location. You can't navigate to the other, you can't have a roadmap of where you're going, if you're not aware of who you currently are. Where are you in life right now? What has been the past 6 months like? July is the perfect month to do this because we're halfway through the year!

Ask A LOT of questions.

I think I am currently at a point where I am just asking and asking and asking questions after questions. We don't need to have answers for all of them just yet, we just have to figure out the right questions we should be asking because "The quality of our life is in the quality of the questions we ask." See to it also that we ask solution based questions that will propel us forward instead of dwelling in self-pity asking questions like "WHY ME???" Here are some I ask (others I'm still waiting the answers for!)

Dream Up Again & Find New Inspiration.

I have spent the past few months living in the present and staying grateful and I SWEAR by that a lot. There's no better way to live life! But I forgot one thing. I did all that in the expense of dreaming up new things. To explore what else is possible. What else could there be more than the garden I’ve made up for myself. I'm like that baby who just takes what God gives me (which Ive dreamt up in the past!) and says "Thank you Abba!" Haha!

Now it's time to dream up greater dreams, sow more seeds, and find new inspiration from people whose way of living and thinking I can look up to. And boy, do I have a LOONG list!

Be aware of your higher self and lower self states.

This is something I learned from one of ModernHealthMonk's videos. Create a table with 2 columns and start writing down the habits of your higher self on one side and your habits when you aren't being your best on the other. Figuring this out will help you be aware and have a distinction when you are not being your best and ultimately, resolve to act on the high vibe habits.

You can make categories, for example— financially, my higher self habit would be tracking my expenses, spending intentionally and tries to find ways to save more money. The opposite of that is me spending whatever the frick I want and maybe going to two coffeeshops in a day. COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. Ha! (at least I'm aware now)

Write up a new plan for how you want to go moving forward.

I think this is something that I failed big time on. (Oh yeah, I'm VERY aware. You see, Life has taught me that I could plan soo many things and YET God would still give me immeasurably more than I could ask for. This girl took that the wrong way though because she stopped planning altogether.

But you see, we've been given the power to be cocreators of our destinies. I will go back to making plans and writing every absurd ambition my mushy lil heart has. I love going back to my old journals and see the plans I had and although they never saw the light of day because again, God had greater plans that made my dreams blown away by my reality, I’m still thankful that I had dreams in my heart when I was younger that looked so impossible from where I was at the time. Tough girl deserves more credit!

Dream up, captain!!

*bonus*

Reinvent your surroundings.

Change will and SHOULD always come from within, but sometimes it's the hardest thing to do that when the ground youve been planted on isn't fertile OR if you've been placed on a pot that you can't grow to be the great Oak Tree you've been created to be.

Here's the good news, you are able to change your surroundings and your outer appearance if you're up for it! Some may take investment (like changing up your wardrobe, or getting a new desk, or hm, my new hair which I'm still justifying myself for spending too much on LOL) and then others, like people or things you spend time on/with, you just have to regulate. If you feel like you can't expand because of your family or friends' limited mindset or toxic lifestyles, I'm not saying you should stop being with them but give more focus and energy on the new.

Reinventing ourselves doesn’t require us to hate who we are, or where we are in life. It doesn’t have to be our last resort when we realised we’ve failed trying. If you’re in a place where you feel desperate for growth, reinventing yourself could mean finding new avenues and opportunities to further who you are, what you know, maybe it's time for some stirring up! Create a new thing, receive THE new thing by MAKING SPACE for the new you! Let the universe surprise you just with how much love you can receive, how much abundance can flow through you.

"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun!
Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland."
Isaiah 43:19

As always,
